Product Description
The abbreviation NVMe stands for "Non Volatile Memory express". The suffix "express" refers to the technology used, which NVMe has adopted from the PCIe slots. Therefore, NVMe models are often offered as PCIe SSDs. Current NVMe SSDs work with version 3.0 and four data lines (PCIe x4). This allows up to 4 gigabytes per second to be transferred, about seven times more than via SATA (maximum 600 megabytes per second). The port is designed to access data in any order. This is an advantage, since SSDs often have data stored on the data carrier distributed over a large area.
